Shane Silverance (Sophmore) was a starting outfielder for the Junior Varsity Raiders Baseball team. He was usually batting in the top of the order. I recently interviewed him to see his thoughts about this past season and playing varsity baseball next season.
CS: Coming into this year, this team had high hopes, but you were unable to make the playoffs. How can you describe this season?
Shane: We underachieved
CS: How so? Why did you underachieve?
Shane: Well because we had too many fielding errors and we always died in the later innings
CS: What was missing?
Shane:Chemistry... Team Chemistry
CS: Varsity baseball next year.. How do you feel about that? Nervous?
Shane: I’m very excited actually. I should be playing outfield and pitcher. But I’m really excited non the less
CS: When do you guys start practicing?
Shane: October? Yeah October
CS: Its been awhile since Coach Sce and his Varsiy Baseball Club has made the playoffs. What do you think you and the fellow sophomores have to do as a team?
Shane: Beside practice, We need to come together as a team.
CS: Last question, what is Shane Silverence going to do this offseason, getting ready for Varsity?
Shane: Practice like non stop. Long toss. Batting cages. I’ll be ready.
Based on this interview, Shane cannot wait for next season to start and he will do whatever he can to become a better baseball player and be ready for Varsity Baseball next season.
